All That Is Old Is New Again

If you have been Counting along with me, you know I am pretty much a fanatic about all things with 4 or more wheels. I prefer older cars and trucks but do read several blogs that follow new car news also.

A bit about automotive styling. Almost all auto manufacturers in recent years have come out with products with a retro look. That is harking back to their heritage to come up with new car designs. Thus far, they all have followed in staying with their brand when doing this.

Volkswagon started it several years ago when the redesigned the 68 Bug

into this 2008 Bug.

GM followed suit by redesigning this 53 Chevy Panel truck

into this HHR. Although this one has been highly modified, you can still see the similarness of the design.

Ford then redesigned this 67 Mustang

into this 2007 pony car.

Dodge jumped on board this year redesigning this 1970 Challenger

into this one.

Now Nissan, not having a big truck heritage to fall back on, yesterday introduced the 2500.

You can read about it here. As outfitted, it is pretty cool.

But does anyone else see the similarity in design with this 57 Dodge panel van?

The Mustang and the Challenger stayed closest to their roots.I prefer the original though on all of them.
