Now, I Have This To Say About That

These days this oleunemployedcontructionworker spends alot of time trying to curtail his expenses on a month to month basis, only to save up for another On The Road adventure to keep you Counters entertained.

Well one of the things I have curtailed has been the luxury of having a boob-tube in the ole Taj Mahal. Yeah, it was either internet or cable and, thankfully for all ya'll, I chose cellular internet so I can post a blog from pretty much anywhere in these good ole United States.

Now, having said that, I still am plugged in to the world and while I may choose not to comment on it, I have a definitive grasp on what is going on in the World in which we live.

I mean, I pay attention, the Iranian elections, Michelle Obama's trip to London, the Auto Exec's flights to Congress, (is there a difference there?), the Madoff Sentence, and Lynndie England's ordeal. I mean, I have some knowledge of what is going on out there, thanks to these ubiquitous tubes.

So, this past week or so, as has been well documented by just about every website or, as it may be, television station we all frequent, we lost Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Karl Malden and Fred Travelena.

Now, thejeepjunkie and TheGoodAttorney have been over to visit this olelongrooffan at the Taj Mahal just about every evening during this time of loss.

They both have a great sense of humor and I hope you see it in this series of events.

Now, as I have mentioned previously, I Am Sick. I hope no one takes offense at the following sequence of purported events.

So Ed McMahon is talking to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates and St. Peter mentions that Ed McMahon did a fantastic job on the Tonite Show and what did he need here in Heaven?

'How about a Gorgeous Blonde?'

So Farrah Fawcett is talking to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates and St. Peter mentioned that Farrah Fawcett so defined the 80's and what did she need?

'Just keep the children safe.'

So Michael Jackson is talking to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates and St. Peter mentioned that Michael Jackson had done so much for the music industry and what did he need?

'I really need a pitchman.'

So Billy Mays is talking to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates and St. Peter mentioned that Billy Mays was instrumental in making "As Seen On TV" so respectable, what did he need?

'I really need an investigator to help me look into Michael Jackson's past.'

So Karl Malden is talking to St. Peter at the Pearly Gates and St. Peter mentioned what a great role he played in Streetcar Named Desire and what did he need?

'Well, I really could use some comedic relief from this Michael Jackson investigation.'

So Fred Travalena was talking to St. Peter.....

And it is having this sick sense of humor that allows us to

Celebrate Life.

These Are Lees, 1970 Style

If you aren't a Lee Family Member, this post won't mean much to you.

In the Summer of 1970 TheGentlemanFarmer's coworker, Ed Dahlheimer, and my brother, thejeepjunkie, shot these old school photos. For some reason I ended up with the book Ed D published them in and I am now sharing these photos with you.

Although there is alot of room for commentary, for now, at least, I am re-publishing them for you as the original photographer published them originally, without comment. But I reserve the right to comment on them in future blogs.

Enjoy them.
