Longroofs At The Rod Run

Welcome to the Longroof Edition of What I Saw Today at the Turkey Rod Run.

This morning, I headed over to Daytona International Speedway to pick up the Show Car sticker that allows the olestationbus and as many people as we can cram into it, free admission to the flea market, car show and car corral. As that sticker costs $40 for the weekend, and daily admission is $15 a head, it is a great deal. Hope thejeepjunkie gets to join us on Saturday.

So, anyway, prior to joining thejeepjunkie, the Kid, the Kid's sister and the sungoddess for a, first time, Thanksgiving dinner, I went over to the track to see what I could see in the hour before I had to head over to their house. The meal was delicious, by the way. The sungoddess sure can serve up a great feast!

Some of these shots I got at Belaire Plaza as I headed back to the Taj Mahal from their place. I will shut up now and get on to the images.

Mid 90's era Buick Roadmaster wagon. Sure wish thejeepjunkie would let me buy on of these.

A real nice 68 Suburban, similar to the one Lil Jim used to own. This one is super sharp and, aside from the running boards, is highly desirable to me.

Although I stated earlier, "no pedestrian tri 5 chevy's", I am making an exception for longroofs. This is a 55 four door wagon.

Thought of the Bus when I saw this one. Remember I saw one, but the windowed version, on my trip to the Ozarks for Mom's Last Bus Ride?

A sweet 61 Impala wagon. thejeepjunkie and the Kid don't care for the restomod wheels on these old longroofs but they don't seem to bother me as much as they do them. However, period correct wheels and hubcaps would be sweet.

A bagged and slammed Chevelle wagon.

An old Buick Roadmaster wagon, a predecessor to the Buick shown in the first image of this post. This one is super sweet and is a local car. the Kid and I commented, when we saw it last night, how cool it is. It also has an air conditioner attached to the rear passenger side window. Forgot to get a shot of it but I will next time I see it.

I am not really sure what this street rod sedan delivery is but it qualifies for inclusion as it is a longroof.

A 52 Chevy Sedan Delivery. Again, not a huge fan of this restomod type of car, but then it is not mine either.

A 56 Chevy four door wagon.

I am pretty sure this is a 53 Ford Ranch Wagon. Nice stance on this one.

Another old Buick wagon. As you can see, surf boards are in this year down in this neck of the woods.

A 62 Ford Country Sedan. What the hell is that bulge in the hood for? Another mystery I will never solve. Dirt Sister and Lil Jim, where are you?

No, this is not the Rambler wagon seen here, instead, this one has a MOPAR 440 in it. And it is not priced at a cool $1,000,000.00

A rusty 59 Edsel.

Another 62 looking much finer than the maroon one above.

And I love this ole 68 Impala wagon. Probably because my first car was a 68 Belair and I always lusted after the Impala, after all, it had 6 rear lights vs. the 4 on my Belair.

And a 59 Ford Ranch Wagon. It is interesting, Chevy called their 2 door wagons 'Nomad' and Ford called theirs 'Ranch Wagon'. I will have to do a little research to figure that one out.

A super clean old Woody.

And this faded red, to almost pink, Plymouth Belvedere sure struck my fancy.

An early 60's Mercury Comet race wagon.

Another tri 5 Nomad.

And this old 1970 Ford Country Sedan was bone stock, excepting, possibly, the beauty rims on the wheels. Still really nice though.

And, of course, this POC Toyota Tercel posted both on this post and on this one.

And that is What I Saw Today.

Tomorrow the Kid and I are in search of a Coupe DeVille tag and a 16 year old Hemmings.

I know it will be fun. Stay tuned.
