CDM Gets Another Scoop

I think it is awesome the Complaint Department Manager just couldn't resist getting in a Road Trip of his own this summer. Road trips are fun, even if sometimes they are tirps, or road ticks, of which I picked up two on my On The Road By The Numbers trip to Haven Lee Farm. By the way, they still have not healed but no lime disease here though.

I am envious of the CDM. My road trips for the summer have ended, however, that is not what this post is about.

You see, a while back, the CDM bitched about the lack of availability of cool cars offered elsewhere on this earth not being available in the good ole USA. At that time, I pointed out that BMW, and now even more automakers, including Ford, are bringing those cars to the states.

I posted a blog congratulating the CDM on having such great influence, even worldwide automakers were listening to him and following his wishes.

Now, it seems the CDM has scooped every one of the NASCAR tabloids and websites.

As most of us, well at least I do, know, Tony Stewart has entered into a contract with the former Haas-CNC racing for the 2009 season. He will, in essence, become a partner in that team, with no money outlay, just to race on that team. It is, I think, a good move for him in that he can now work on his post driver involvement in the Winston--Nextel--Sprint Cup racing series. Tony's ownership in this team will go alongside his ownership in a couple sprint car, not Sprint Cup, teams as well as a dirt race track in the Midwest.

As those of us know, there is another driver who also owns his own team. Robbie Gordon.

Now, like Tony Stewart, Robbie also owns another race team, this off road racing team, which, actually, is more successful than his NASCAR team.

Now, here is the interesting part of the CDM scoop. Tony Stewart actually owns this old hearse which he keeps in his hometown of Columbus, Indiana.

Last year, the somewhat tacky show, Unique Whips, on SpeedTV, did a makeover on this hearse for Tony and it now has the following appearance.

Unfortunately, Tony Stewart wants to follow in the footsteps of Robbie Gordon and go off road racing.

The CDM found Tony's new vehicle for this off road racing venture in remote southwest Missouri on his Road Trip.

Way to go CDM. I am forever grateful for you locating this rare, but soon to be infamous, vehicle for the rest of us average folks.

Again, you have the ear of the decision makers, for which we are all grateful.

By the way, that new hearse of Tony's is a rare 1966 Cadillac S&S Sunset.

Even after heat exhaustion took over yesterday, I still managed to laugh myself silly with this one.
