Earlier today, before the monsoon set in, while I was driving down US 1 over on the mainland, two cop cars, a firetruck, and an ambulance blew by me heading north. Well, of course, I whipped a Uee to find out what they were up to.
After all, I needed a What I Saw Today post so the horse rancher won't be calling me up or emailing me to question my ability to perform my duties, as seems to be happening to him alot these days.
Well, What I Saw Today was a traffic accident. It involved this Ocala based, at least I presume it to be as it was from DeLuca Toyota and had Marion County license plates, Toyota Tundra and a late model GM "F" Body Camaro.
There were Ormond Beach cops everywhere. Below, one cop is talking to the driver of the truck and in the next shot,
several more come over.
The fire department showed up and stuck around as when this Camaro slammed into this pole, it knocked the wire loose which supplied power to the street lamp, formerly on that pole.
Here is that lightless pole
and the wire to it on the ground.
That light traveled about 20 feet horizontally and landed in the grass area of this parking lot.
Now, I told you there were a bunch of cops there. You can make out at least 4 Crown Vics with those blue lights on them.
Ormond Beach animal control even got involved.
Here the ambulance heads out taking the driver of that "F" body in for a checkup.
The fire department pulled out also.
And this wrecked Camaro reminded me of this
also seen here.
And, horse farmer, that is What I Saw Today, another member of an extinct series of automobile off the road for good.
